Problem
AB Mauri Cereform wanted to lower their carbon footprint. Having already undertaken their lighting, air compressors and power factor correction, it was decided to review a 100kW Solar installation. This provided the best outcome to further lower their operating cost, following on from our previous energy efficiency solutions. Co-Generation was ruled out as no heat load was present and the weekend load profile did not fit the profile.
Solution
In conjunction with our technology partner, Autonomous Energy, a 99.6 kW solar system was installed on the factory roof.
Results
- The plant delivers over 145,000kWh per annum to the plant, lowering the site’s carbon footprint by 9.8%
- Funding was sought from AusIndustry (Food & Foundry Fund) for $95,000 + GST and Small Technology Certificates (STCs) to the value of $74,000 + GST
- Total funding $169,000
